November 30. 2019 – Ft Lauderdale, FL – Partly Cloudy – 78F

The room was very quiet and I slept pretty well – the air conditioner, although quieter than most, was still loud enough that ear plugs were required.

At 7:00 AM, I went down for breakfast – there were a lot of options for breakfast.  I made waffles and also had a pre-packaged omelets (real eggs, cheddar cheese, and peppers and onions) that I microwaved.  The food was great and the coffee very good.  I got a nice seat by the window and watched the sun come up – warm on my face.  A wonderful breakfast.  Ellen went down about 9:30 AM (breakfast was served until 10 AM) and I had another cup of coffee.

We didn’t even need lunch (a lot of food for breakfast) and spent the day either by the pool or at one of seating areas around the building.  The seats by the pool were pretty uncomfortable so I stationed myself at the couches just beyond the pool.

I am reading the latest Preston and Childs Pendergast Novel “Verses for the Dead”.  The book is a bit different that the previous books in the series in that Special Agent Pendergast has a new partner.

We had more the chicken from BJs for dinner along with the cole slaw.  Still good.

I arranged for two rides to the pier using the service provided by the hotel - $10 per person.  I didn’t want to deal with an Uber considering how many vans would be parked out in front of the hotel in the morning – just about everyone is going on a cruise.

We spent the rest of the day reading in the quiet of our room.
