August 9, 2025 – At Sea – St Lawrence Sea Way
As we head
North, the temps are dropping but there is still a little Sun in the morning
for my breakfast.
I spent some of the morning in the Mosaic Cafe going through this talk over an iced Cafe Americano..
Lunch in the Windows Cafe was pretty standard for me - deli salads and a green salad.
After a few days off on this second cruise, today is my first talk – “Forensic Detectives: Identifying the Famous and Infamous” at 2 PM. I finished at 2:52 PM due to long intro by Bernardo (about the shows being on TV). Ellen broke down the hookup fast so the next speaker started on time. A full house.
Attendance
Note on Cruise #1. Except for the “America’s Fallen Heroes”
presentation, the attendance was essentially a full house – I am estimating
that between 250 and 300 people attended each talk. The only seats left were in the far corners
of the stage areas where you could not see anything and people would not sit
there. These were the best crowds I’ve
drawn on an Azamara Cruise.
Next up was Dr.
Ron Orenstein –– “Tropical Greenland” – 3 PM.
I didn’t hang around for that as I was pooped from my talk.
We changed for dinner and went to the Living Room at 5:30 PM to hear Singer Dancer Angelina Mawad in cabaret mode doing “Chilled Tunes” – soft standards using electronic backup.
It was an
entertaining show – she has a very good alto voice.
Tonight’s theme is Taste of France in Windows. We had our special meals in the Discoveries Restaurant. Ellen ordered Kosher Bola Meat (ET) without knowing what it was (it turned out that Bola is a special cut of beef). I had Spaghetti Bolognese, which was arguably the best thing I have eaten on a cruise ship.
Savory and tasty – it did not
taste like a premade meal. And it was
hot. So good I took a picture of it.
At 9:00 PM, we went to the theater to see Mark Donoghue, a multi instrument vocalist. He was certainly talented (we have see him before) but the orchestra overwhelmed his violin, especially during the mandatory “Devil Went Down to Georgia” number. The highlight of the program was a harmonic version of Hallelujah. His intros to his numbers were the most interesting part of his set.
These shows all end late so it was back to our stateroom for us.
