December 2, 2025 – At Sea – Caribbean Sea – Sunny – 82F
I hadn’t read the program carefully enough and didn’t realize that my last talk was today at 10 AM in the Galaxy Lounge. I'll have to get a bit of a move on to get ready.
Another beautiful day at sea - some threatening clouds but it is the Caribbean.
I didn't have to rush my breakfast this morning even with the early talk. I should mention that the New Yorker is my morning read - I read about two pages at breakfast.
NOTE: Breakfast for the remainder of the cruise consisted either Option 1 - Pancakes (2), cottage cheese, preserves, scrambed eggs (w or w/o some cheese) and coffee; or Option 2 - Pancakes (2) with two fried eggs (OM) and coffee. Both options were equally good. I especially liked the guy making the eggs - never a line and always a friendly greeting.
I got to the Galaxy Theater early again to meet and greet. One guest asked me if I greet everyone coming into the theater ("When I can"). “Open Unsolved Cases: Forensic Genetic Genealogy”

drew about a 40 percent attendance (again, it is very hard to gauge the audience size). I had
good pace and finished at the 47 minute mark (and was followed by David
Cooper). I spoke to a few passengers
afterward and got some nice feedback – a nice round of applause followed this
talk. Done for the cruise. Some more good news, I had no problem with the stairs today.
We had lunch in the Waterside Restaurant - the menu had trout (for Ellen) and veggie chow mein (for me). They were both OK and the place is quiet at lunch.
Our afternoon followed the usual pattern - Palm Court for reading and for Afternoon Tea, Leandro plays the piano during tea and he's great.
We went down a little early for dinner and I ordered a Blue Curacao Sour.
This has turned out to be my favorite cocktail of late - nice orange taste and no alcohol bite.
Dinner was in the Waterside Restaurant. The big deal today was that the Somalier located some Moscato for Ellen.
Tonight we ordered
off the Vegan Menu (we didn’t even know there was a vegan menu. I had the pasta, which had both a white sauce
and a tomato sauce (on the bottom). An
interesting combination of flavors but good.
We inquired about Kosher Meals on this cruise and we were told they had them and gave us a list of the availble options. We ordered
kosher meals for tomorrow – hot dogs for me and lamb chops for Ellen. Looking forward to that.
The headliner
tonight was Cory Kahaney – a pretty funny comedian from New York. She joked about her two marriages (more
serious situation than she let on) and her two kids (one was in preschool while
the other was in college). It was a good
show – the more comedians, the better.
Back to the room for the night - it should be quiet tonight.
