December 16, 2025 – At Sea – Caribbean Sea – Warm – 87
My new go-to
breakfast is two pancakes and two eggs over medium – the pancakes are elevated with some chocolate sauce and walnuts.
Wonderful and the eggs are cooked to order and good. The egg cook is great.
The first talk on this third segment – “Forensic Detectives: The Search for Jack the Ripper” is scheduled for 11 AM in the Galaxy Lounge. The photos below were taken from the TV replay of the talk (most people are probably watching these in their staterooms.)
I am following the destination speaker, Anita Gonzalez, who spoke on the
dances of the Caribbean. The talk ran 49 minutes. I didn’t feel I really
connected with the audience. Some of the
things that usually get a nice response in the talk didn’t this time around.
Ellen and I
had lunch in the Trident Grill.
We went to the
Palm Court after lunch – Ellen didn’t stay for tea. I stayed awhile and took in
Leandro and Ely Lee while drinking orange tea and eating scones.
We are having dinner
with Rick and Katherine in Beefbar tonight.
We were talking about dinner last night with them and we asked them to
join our reservation. Ellen and I both had the Robata (Salmon) with mashed
potatoes – I also tried the parmesan French fries (OK but nothing
special). The Huttos had the run of the
menu and tried the beef. The meals were
good but the Gelato Montecato again was the star of the show. We had coffee and
chatted for quite a while before heading to the room.
The dinner lasted so long that we decided to catch the late show in the theater – tonight’s headliner was comedian Darrel Joyce.
We had seen him twice before and were not impressed. It was clear that he had changed his show –
he even told us that – and for the better.
He was very funny (especially a routine involve TSA and TSA
precheck). Hilarious.
The show ran until 10:30 PM – we were tired from the late hour. So, it was off to the room.
