The ship did eventually calm down but it was still moving a bit at breakfast. The motion of the ocean kept the crowd at the buffet to a manageable level. Today, pancakes and freshly prepared eggs OM (not the pre-made ones on the buffet) were my choice. The food was very good and I didn't feel that rushed. I am continuing to bring Ellen her breakfast.
Today I gave my “Forensics and History: The Search for Jack the Ripper” in the Theater. I am still so tired from the early part of this journey that I blanked on the second Ripper victim when asked by a passenger. I told him it would come back to me during the talk. The turnouts have been increasing daily and we are past 70 percent full. It’s hard to tell when everybody is so spread out. When the vote was taken, Lizzie Williams still came out of top but most of the audience abstained. Maybe, they needed more evidence. In any event, I still finished in good time – 49 minutes. Even so, I was done and off the stage before the Captain started his announcements so that worked out OK.
There's not much to see outside - it is an ugly wet day but we still like a window so the rest of the day was spent eating in the Oceanview Café
and vegging out in a quiet part of the ship – we were lucky enough to score the
two chairs that sit outside by themselves in an alcove next to the Sky Lounge. There is a good view out the windows in the alcove. It is a little cooler out there but worth the
privacy and quiet.
Lauren Jelencovich is back tonight for her second show. She was casual in the first show but tonight she is dressed to the nines. The show was entertaining with show tunes and standards. She does have a good voice and is fun to watch on stage. She even did an operatic duet, of sorts, with CD Manuel. I took a lot of pictures during the show - the only photos I took all day.
Big day tomorrow.
We are on an excursion (our Kroner) in Akureyri. It’s a 6.5 hour tour but it starts around
11:00 AM so that is perfect.
Seas are smooth.
