Saturday, July 28, 2018 – At Sea – Baltic Sea – Hazy and Breezy – 70s

Still not sleeping well – stayed away from iced tea at dinner, which made no difference. The ship is quiet and the seas are smooth so there is no reason.

Had breakfast up in the Oceanview Café – the usual waffle combo plus some oatmeal and scrambled eggs. I am going to ask for fresh scrambled eggs next time.

My second talk – “Forensics and History: The Search for the Unknown Titanic Child” was scheduled for 9:30 AM in Celebrity Central. The turnout was about the same for this talk. The early hour may have something to do with the attendance or this is not a lecture-oriented crowd. In any event, the audience was once again engaged and seemed to enjoy the talk.

Today, all the speakers are on – back to back. I stay for almost all of Paul Delaney’s talk on space exploration. He had a lot of kids in his lecture and a very good crowd.

We had lunch in the Oceanview Café – pizza, the salad trio, and mushroom soup.

We then headed to the couches on Deck 14 Aft to write this journal and do some reading. Not too hot and not to cold so we stayed there most of the afternoon. The aft deck was totally saturated with people and the conversations became so loud that we couldn’t stay any longer. We spent a little time in the Sky Lounge and then changed for dinner.

Based on the menu options, we had dinner in the Oceanview Café. I had Pasta Oglio prepared for me along with some other tidbits (feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, and a really good sunflower seat roll). Not a lot of food but that’s OK.

Celebrity Showtime tonight featured the first production show – “Rock City”. Based on our experience on our last cruise on Eclipse, we stopped in to check out the show. As was the case last time, the show is very loud (purposely so) so we took in Michael Redden in the Ensemble Lounge. His stuff is still the same but he is more easy to listen to.

We are in the room a little earlier tonight.
